I have been blogging since December but it has been pretty inconsistent this last month or so as my little girl becomes more and more active, plus these last three weeks have jam packed with guests coming to meet Charlotte. As much as I love seeing family I have to admit I am ready to get back to our routine and back to blogging (I missed all you wonderful ladies)!
I could not think of a better way to return than by being nominated for the Liebster Award by not 1 but three amazing and talented other mommy bloggers!
Thank you so much to:
Annie from Simply Annie
Chelsea from And Then Life
Corina from Now That I Can Do!
Fair warning this post will be slightly long as I will be answering all three of these wonderful ladies’ questions.
How the Liebster Award Works:
The Liebster Award is an honor given by fellow bloggers to new blogs that have been around for less than two years and have less than 1,000 followers. It helps bloggers connect with other bloggers. Being able to connect with other blogs is a great way to grow your community and find support. I love finding new amazing ladies and mommas to connect with and be inspired by.
Rules for the Liebster Award:
- Thank the blog that nominated you on a post in your blog.
- Answer the questions asked by the blog that nominated you.
- Nominate 5-11 other new bloggers.
- Create 11 new questions for the nominees to answer.
Notify all nominees via social media.

Simply Annie Questions:
What was the first blog you ever read?
It was actually a friend from high school’s blog. She and her sister-in-laws had started one to stay connected from around the country, but at the time I didn’t even consider starting my own.
What made you decide to start your blog?
I was pregnant with Charlotte and realizing that for the first time in my life I wouldn’t be going to school or working outside the home, and honestly it scared me. I wanted something to schedule and keep me busy, but more importantly a way to connect with other moms.
What did your family and friends think of you starting a blog?
My husband thought it was “cute” and good for me, but I was honestly too embarrassed to tell many people I knew at first.
What is your favorite memory from blogging so far?
After writing my post A Rant from a New Mom the comments I received were so warm and genuine. I was nervous that people would have a negative reaction, so it felt good to have such great comments.
How do you decide what to write?
I take inspiration from my own personal struggles and triumphs. A lot of the time lately I have been writing as a release or a way to express emotions. I love to throw in fun topics like fashion and style though too.
Where do you like to sit and work?
I do most of my blogging on the kitchen counter sitting on a bar stool. I would love to say that I have some cutely styled desk or that I go to my local Starbucks but in reality its counter top or even on the floor in my daughters room while I pump.
What is your favorite social media outlet to use?
What is the first thing you think of every morning?
I prioritize what needs to get done for the day.
How do you keep track of your thoughts and ideas for posts?
I have a cute little journal that I keep with me where I write down ideas.
Do you like to write notes or jot them down on your phone/computer?
I like the good ole pen and paper.
What is your favorite blog post you’ve written so far?
Hmm…probably my most recent one talking about my frustrations as a new mom.
How did you choose the name of your blog?
I honestly just starting throwing words out there that I might want in my name and this just came to mind.
What’s the most stalkerish thing you’ve dealt with via social media?
I haven’t had situations, yet.
If you could choose ONE person to happen across your blog who would it be?
Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman and I’m not even a food blog!
Have you ever questioned something you wrote after posting it?
Yes, almost every post but mainly the ones where I’m honest about motherhood. I’m always afraid that someone is going to call me a bad mom for being honest about not loving every second of it.
What do you do when you’re not blogging?
Taking care of my little one Charlotte, snuggling my dog Minnie, spending time with hubby, and going for walks (along with a lot of other random activities).
If you are going to advertise something from your blog which form of social media do you tend to lean towards most?
Is there something you’d like to add to your site that either don’t have the means to right no or just haven’t found the time to work on yet?
I would love to add a logo but until I am able to make some money from my blog I just don’t have the means.
Has your blog name ever changed?
What is the title of you piece you’ve written?
Do you have any series going on on your blog? When does it/do they run?
No, but I have been thinking about adding some. What do you all think of Tasty Tuesday (recipe/food posts) and Fashionista Friday (Style related posts). I love my mom specific posts but I want to make my blog a little more well-rounded and a better reflection of me.
